If you still use this classic simulator (as many of us still do), you may wish to look at some of the files below. You can jump to the separate sections using the links below as this article is quite lengthy:Īmidst the development of the likes of X-Plane 11, many simulation fans may have missed out on some classic Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition releases.

We will add to these sections throughout the year - visit regularly to see the latest updates. We have updated this article with new additions for 2021. This article specifically focuses on freeware - created by developers who work on these projects in their spare time for fun, not profit. However, with so many options out there on the market, it can be increasingly easy to lose track of some of the most popular releases. From top quality designs that perfectly portrays some of the most important airports in the world, to lesser-known aircraft that you may never have heard of, many mods exist. So, is it possible to download a mod from The Workshop WITHOUT having to "Subscribe" to it.Every year, the simulation community manages to create new and improved aircraft and scenery for many locations around the virtual globe.

I like this level of control and don't like the idea of Steam installing any mod into my game automatically by "Subscribing" to it (Christ, Steam has too much control as it is lol).Īlso, I don't know if "Subscribing" to a Steam Mod permanently links it to my account, even if I later "Unsubscribe" to it? If so, I want no part of that. Now with EVERY mod I install from The Nexus, I always download manually, unpack, examine the files and folder-structure to be sure it all looks good, then repack, drop into my "Mods Folder" and then install with NMM.

I've always been a "Nexus Exclusive" type-a-Dude, however I've come across a mod I want to install into my game that's seemingly only available through The Workshop. Should read: "Is it possible to Manually Install a Mod from Steam Workshop WITHOUT having to "Subscribe" to it?" Edit: OK, so my thread title got cut-off.
